NAN DOB means “we are agave" in Zapotec, an indigenous language from the Mexican state of Oaxaca, where it is believed that everyone comes from the agave plant. NAN DOB is also a play on the Chinese words 南 nan (south) and 东 dong (east), honoring the global south and east.
NAN DOB is an encounter of cultures and our collective origin.
NAN DOB was born joining the warmth and vibrancy of Mexico with the elegant minimalism of Scandinavian design. Mezcal, a spirit with ancient roots in the indigenous Mexican culture has long held a sacred significance in Mexico. By combining traditional methods passed down through generations with an innovative approach, the result is a mezcal that is complex and unique in flavour.

Our Promise
Simplicity
We value the spirit and organic flavor of the agave plant. Nothing goes into our creations that isn’t absolutely necessary to highlighting the agave's unique profile flavor.
Giving Back
We source our agaves from farms working with sustainable practices, with profit-sharing for workers. A percentage of every sale goes back into preserving wild agaves and supporting local growers and producers.
Respect
We respect the agave, the land where it came from and the people who have been working with it. We won’t compromise our quality, since this is the way to respect the ancient mezcal tradition.

All of our creations are hand crafted preserving artisanal production methods passed on to four generations.
Our Story
NAN DOB is a quest of travelling across the world to find home, going back to ones roots and celebrating your ancestors. Paula was born and raised in Mexico, where she fell in love with her country's deep cultural and spiritual heritage. She met Luis while studying Art History. Her second home became Sweden where she learn about design and simplicity and where she met Sandra, a former ballerina, who like her, decided to bring her artistic endeavours into the business world. Paula then moved to China where she learn about ancestral time and the spirituality hidden in daily rituals.
In 2021, she decided it was time to share her love for her culture and mezcal to the world. NAN DOB was born as tribute to the agave plant feminine spirit, honoring its uniqueness and strength.
